Ethos

At RJS Fitness we believe very strongly that physiologically we are all a product of our genetics, our previous life experiences and our current lifestyle. Whether we are tall, short, fat or thin, fast or slow, strong or weak is determined by all three. While it is difficult (but not impossible) to affect the expression of certain genes, we can absolutely change how our lifestyle affects our energy levels, hormones, immune system, fat storage, fitness levels, even our likelihood of developing certain diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and even some cancers.

Personal training, by definition, must address all these issues on an individual basis and we believe that it should not be seen (or sold) as a once-a-week fitness session. A personal trainer should act as a personal guide through the minefield of poor fitness, health and nutrition advice that is being peddled by our media, government, GPs and certified nutritionists.  Nutrition is key and must be addressed before even thinking about exercise.

The knowledge you gain throughout your journey will last you forever and you will be better informed and in a stronger position to guide yourself and your family towards a healthier and safer future.
